Tamara, so nice to see you blogging here again! Now I have a folder in Google Reader labeled 'crafts creativity spiritual or personal.' I just added The Tip Junkie to it today! There are so many amazing blogs out there, teaching, crafting, spiritual! Google reader is definately helping me keep up and manage them all. I now have about 150 in there!!! I have a tugging inside to share this with you; I had been hunting for the 1st grade blog 'Building Blocks' (someone said it had a contest & I didn't see a link) so I Googled it...God has been pressing on my heart about orphan care..not sure where He's going to take it, I don't see Him leading us to adoption, but at least raising awareness & support at my church...anyway this blog www.buildingtheblocks.blogspot.com popped up. I felt it was a total 'God thing' and I felt I needed to share this with you...maybe you'll know why. I do try to follow through when I feel God tugging on me. Glad your family had a great vacation! We enjoyed making the Ressurection Cookies! Thanks for posting about them!! Anyway check out the Block's Blog and let me know if you feel there's a reason for me sharing it with you! Thanks, Nancy The Apple Basket Teacher
Hi Nancy, This morning I was reading Radical by David Platt. AWESOME book and I strongly recommend it! I have been reading the chapters in order and today's chapter was- How much is enough? discussing world poverty. It went into detail about children starving each day and how we are commanded to reach out and support them. Next, I read your email and tonight I checked out the site you wanted me to view. I knew instantly God is clearly speaking to me to help. It is very clear. Even the first sentence in the first post is written by Lorraine, which is my middle name (and not a common name at all). My husband and I have signed up to donate $50.oo a month. I will also keep reading their blog- so informative and amazing to see God working. Thank you Nancy for being obedient and sharing with me.
Welcome to Teaching with TLC! I'm so glad you hopped on over. I'm a homeschool mom of five children, a former elementary teacher with a master's degree in curriculum, and an author who enjoys encouraging educators by providing FUN and effective teaching tools. I am also hooked on blogging and founded TeachingBlogAddict.com.
Successful teaching is not head-to-head; it is heart-to-heart. ~TLC
