Effective communication is the key to effective teaching

When you are teaching your children,
does it look like this

or like this?

I recently had the honor to share several communication techniques during a workshop with my homeschool group (a group of moms I absolutely adore). These women have stood by me during the highs and lows of homeschooling but also through the highs and lows in life. What a blessing they are to me! It has been very rewarding to see our kids grow up together. If you aren't in a homeschool support group, I highly recommend finding one near you that shares your same values.

The main message for this month's workshop was on communication and how vital it is to being effective educators. Anatole France is known for saying, "Nine-tenths of education is encouragement."

Wow! That really made me think how important it is to use techniques that will reinforce your teaching. I've had the privilege of attending several seminars and trainings on communication over the years, but my favorite class was taught by Anthony Robbins. Boy is he incredible!

After twenty years of teaching, I compiled my favorite communication strategies used while teaching in this e-workshop format. Click on the image to download the communication skills workshop for parents and educators.

Enjoy!
