Spiritual Growth

It is God’s desire to have a personal relationship with you. It is the very reason that He created you. God gave each of us a will and freedom of choice. But we often choose to follow our own path, make our own way in life, or simply disobey God. This side of our human nature is called sin, and it separates us from God.

The Bible tells us that there is a solution to the problem of sin and separation from God. Because our heavenly Father loves us so much, He sent His son Jesus to die on the cross as a payment for our sins. Jesus took the penalty of our sin on Himself to bridge the gap between us and God. There is no past too marred and no sin so great that God cannot forgive. In John 10:10, Jesus said, "I have come that you may have life, and that life more abundantly."

By acknowledging our sin and believing that Jesus paid the penalty for it once and for all, we can be forgiven and have the kind of relationship with God that will change our lives here and now and give us assurance of eternal life.

If you would like to commit or rededicate your life to God, pray this simple prayer, “Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. I believe that You sent Your son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment I deserve. You raised Him to life again, so I may have eternal life. I repent of my sins and thank You for Your forgiveness. I ask You to come into my heart. I make You my Lord and Savior. Take control of my life, and make me the kind of person You want me to be. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

Congratulations! You are born again if you've prayed this prayer. The angels are rejoicing in heaven. Here are some suggestions for your spiritual growth:

Go to God in prayer daily. (John 15:7)
Read God’s Word daily. (Acts 17:11)
Obey God moment by moment. (John 14:21)
Witness for Christ with your words and actions. (Matthew 4:19)
